Top 8 Questions Asked About Sculptra BBLs

Today: It’s all about that (B)ASS. A bigger, rounder booty is what drives many clients through my doors. At Lea Henderson Aesthetics, I perform Sculptra BBLs regularly for my Albuquerque-based patients looking for extra volume in their backside—without surgery or implants. Naturally, many of them have questions.

Today, I’m answering the top questions my clients ask about Sculptra BBLs! Here are the top 8 things I’m asked as a professional injector on the topic, I hope this helps!

What My Clients Ask About Sculptra BBLs

Ready to get your questions answered and maybe learn a few things you never thought to ask? Let’s go.

1. What’s Sculptra? (What are you injecting into my butt!?)

Sculptra is an FDA-approved dermal filler of poly-l-lactic acid. It was originally designed to help contour the face, but we figured out it’s a great, safer alternative to surgical BBL procedures (which can be very dangerous!). Sculptra is unlike other fillers because it naturally increases volume while promoting the natural production of collagen inside your body. This means that Sculptra BBL results amplify over time!

2. Should I get a Sculptra BBL or Just get Surgery?

I wrote a whole blog on the topic, but in short, it’s up to you and the results you want. If you want a bum like a Kardashian, then a Sculptra BBL is not going to get you there. For serious volume, patients would require traditional BBL surgery or butt implants.

However, many people don’t want that (or don’t want the intense post-surgery recovery)! Sculptra BBLs look much more natural and are a much safe alternative. Since results amplify over time, many patients are pleased with them. Sculptra BBL results tend to mimic years of progress in a gym adding slight volume and lift to the backside.

3. How long does a Sculptra BBL last?

Like any dermal filler, Sculptra is temporary. Thankfully, it’s one of the longest-lasting fillers on the market. A Sculptra BBL lasts up to 25 months depending on the patient and how quickly their body metabolizes fillers. Many of my patients notice their results lasting longer!

4. How many Sculptra injections does a BBL need?

This depends on the desired level of enhancement. It will vary from patient to patient, but we recommend a minimum of 4 Sculptra syringes for your first treatment. Afterward, most patients require 2 additional treatments to achieve greater results. Sculptra BBL injections are spaced six weeks apart.

5. How long does it take to notice Sculptra BBL results?

Many patients notice results immediately since Sculptra is a dermal filler, but this special injectable needs time to work its true magic. The optimal outcome appears about six months after the procedure since Sculptra builds up your natural collagen reserves in addition to the filler that was injected.

6. What’s the recovery like after a treatment?

Not bad at all! A Sculptra BBL won’t slow you down because it requires ZERO social downtime. Fillers naturally settle and disperse throughout the injection site, so you won’t be hindering your results if you resume your normal lifestyle. Post-treatment, you should expect minor bruising or sensitivity around the injection site for a day or two.

Can I dance (twerk) after a Sculptra BBL?

YES! Funny enough, I get this question all the time. You can dance the night away as soon as you feel up to it. You can sweat and move, just try not to PRESS against the butt/areas injected as you don’t want to displace the filler until it settles in. I wrote a blog all about dancing/twerking after a Sculptra BBL, so you can read it here.

7. Can a Sculptra BBL fix hip dips?

Of course, it can. Sculptra adds volume wherever the injections are placed. Many of my patients don’t want their butts enlarged as much as they want to eliminate and fill in hip dips. Sculptra can provide subtle improvement with desirable results to smooth your sides.

8. Does working out reduce my Sculptra BBL?

Nope! In fact, the opposite is true. Working out and doing booty exercises can actually enhance your Sculptra BBL results! Sculptra injections are placed on top of the muscle, so increasing muscle mass won’t hurt them. In another blog, I shared 5 easy exercises to do after a Sculptra Butt Lift that can help you get the most from your treatment(s).
