Kybella™ is a non-human, non-animal derived version of deoxycholic acid, a NATURALLY occurring enzyme found in all of us that helps breakdown fat and absorb it. This treatment is effective for drastically improving the facial profile by permanently eliminating submental fullness under the chin (goodbye turkey neck). + What Can Kybella Help Treat?
Kybella is a great alternative to neck liposuction. It's used as an injection, similar to Botox or Dermal Fillers, but instead of adding volume, it's taking it away in the form of fat to improve the overall contour of the neck, chin, and jawline. Traditional methods to treat excess fat in the neck and under the chin require liposuction and/or a neck lift.
+ Who is an Ideal Candidate for Kybella Injections?
Patients with consolidated fat deposits (AKA double chin) under the chin or on other areas of the body where exercise and diet have not worked are great candidates for having Kybella. Because Kybella is not intended to remove skin, patients who have a lot of loose and hanging skin (“turkey neck”) are not good candidates for this procedure.
+ How Many Kybella Treatments Will I Need?
Most patients begin seeing results 3-4 weeks post-injection and typically need 1-3 treatments depending on the amount of fat in the treated area. Some may need 4-6 treatments spaced one month apart.
